Ready to take the next step?

Finding the right therapist is crucial to effective therapy! I encourage you to interview different therapists to get a feel for the person you’ll work with before making a decision. I see this as a job interview where we determine whether our partnership would be the best for you and your goals.

And I said to my body. Softly.
‘I want to be your friend.’
It took a long breath.
And replied,
‘I have been waiting my whole life for this.’

If you are ready, request a free, 20-minute video consultation.

A link to the client portal will be emailed to you shortly. Request will NOT be accepted until the documentation is complete.

Alright, Now What?

  • You just requested an appointment, now it needs to be approved. Within 24-48 business hours, you will receive an email directing you to the Client Portal where documents will be waiting for you to complete. Make sure to check your junk mail folder if you don't see anything in your inbox.

Once the documentation is complete, your request will be approved and a link to our virtual consultation room will be included in the confirmation email. Click on the link using your computer or download the app as directed if using your phone or tablet.

PLEASE NOTE: Your request will NOT be approved until documents are complete.

  • In this 20-minute consult, we'll decide whether I have the skills to meet your needs and our personalities are a good fit. We'll talk about why you are seeking services, I'll tell you a bit about my therapy style, and get a chance to see how we work together. This is the space in which you have an opportunity to ask me any questions, talk about concerns, and really dig into whether this is the environment to help you heal.

I view this as a job interview and you get to decide whether you want to hire me to help with your concerns. If we determine this will be an effective partnership, we’ll schedule an initial assessment.

  • If we determine to move forward, I'll send you some additional paperwork (yes, more!) to be completed before we schedule our first session. The sooner you complete it, the sooner we can schedule!

Just like with the consultation, you’ll receive an email with the session link to be used at the appointed time.

  • I encourage clients to arrive 5-10 minutes early (virtually or in-person) to allow yourself to settle into the space. Grab a cup of coffee, tea, hot chocolate (your choice), get comfortable in a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed, and we’ll start at the appointed time.

In this initial session, we will discuss your health history, social situation, have a more thorough discussion of your concerns, and develop goals for therapy. I work collaboratively with you to develop a plan that we both feel is manageable.

Please remember, I’m not here to judge you but to understand your situation, so please be honest and true to yourself to get the most out of our time together. Please let me know about any worries or concerns at the start of the assessment so we can address them from the beginning. I want to ensure you are as comfortable as possible during this first session as we explore your needs.

  • If anything comes up between our initial chat and your first appointment, please do not hesitate to contact me. I prefer electronic communication as it can be difficult to connect via phone and I generally return communication within 24 business hours.

Scheduling and logistical questions may be emailed, but please use the Client Portal to discuss concerns of a more personal nature to help protect your privacy and confidentiality.
